Caught Up on Terminology

I have always valued proper terminology when in conversation, especially when it comes to abstract concepts or spiritual discussion. Using proper terminology ensures there is no confusion and makes communication easier. I have noticed over the years in the occult community that people adopt terms and find a way to rationalize the use to make it ok. I end up adjusting what I call myself to try to not being associated with the groups who start to use the same terms for something else. One easy way to show this is in herbology. The differences between an infusion, maceration, decotion, extract, and essential oil is the process or things used. If you want to tell someone to make something, you use one of those terms and the person automatically knows what to do. It is completely unnecessary to go "hey you can make an extract but use oil as a base" when you can go "make an essential oil", this is what the terms are there for. To bring it back to the original intent of this post, is the draconian term. I have gone through a few diff terms over the years for my religion due to people using the term for something else and others getting confused over it. - Dragon Magic was the first my ex husband and I used. But people felt this was a fluffy pseudospirituality based on DnD. - Draconic Occultism is another I used for awhile. It is very general while conveying I do occult study with dragons. It was generally long to keep saying it. - Draconian became the mainly used one the past couple years. Now I'm noticing there are many satanic organizations that are starting to use "draconian" to describe themselves. They work with beings who aren't dragons so this is a misnomer in practice. Although I'm not too terribly different than satanist (vs Wicca which is 180 deg diff), I get a lil upset when I say "draconian" in it's use of draconic occultism and people go to google it, find a satanic site that also uses the term and call me "just a satanist." Not that I have issue with satanism, I think it has a great goal (self enhancement and self deification); but I do not follow satan, I am not doing the qliphoth, and I don't recognize the christian pantheon in my practice. So really this new found draconian = satanism thing is quite irritating. I know I should make a site, I have been working towards one for awhile but I keep having issues getting started. It also goes along with the not calling myself luciferian despite having the same ideals and similar techniques, I work with dragons and dragons exclusively so I'd be misleading people if I called myself a luciferian (which has people who span diff deities, none, satan, lucifer the god of light, etc). I know; "a rose by any other name" and "labels aren't important" and "don't sweat the small stuff" but damn it Jim, I'm a term nazi.
