KKK vs IS image Rant

Need to revisit this in a few months to make it less ranty:

The KKK vs IS image rant:

There is a KKK vs the IS image making several passes around social media I'm sure all have seen it by now, a few times. I keep seeing the same string of arguments under it from various sources, they echo the argument I got into with former friends a few weeks ago, and I feel I must address them. I have let myself sit on it all week to calm down and see if I was still as miffed about the last exposure to the string of claims when I stopped being hormonal, and I am. So I will address what I have been seeing in a clinical matter. As usual this will come off as combative, but not to be taken as combative for the Christian friends who it does not pertain to (ie if you have been deemed ok, you are not the ones I'm bitching about).

Claim #1- "The KKK is all but wiped out and the Muslim community is not crying out publicly against the IS."

OK fine, the KKK is gone for the most part save some redneck groups. But the KKK was the wrong group to use to get the proper point across. They should have used Westboro, Evangelicals, Southern Baptists, or other Christian extremist group; the KKK is more a racist group wrapped up in a religious cloth. I have been on the receiving end of Protestant, Methodist, and Born Again sects who have beaten and even tried to kill me because "suffer not a witch to live" (over my prophetic style dreams I've had since I was a child, eerie presence, and serious connection with nature); assumptions I was devil born or straight up a demon born into a human; "no divorce allowed" (kill me instead of allow me a divorce); "no suicide allowed" (kill me so I'm not damned to hell via suicide when I was going to kill myself to get out of the marriage); "woman should be quiet and subservient to man" and "he's allowed to beat her" (both also taught in the more traditional Christian sects to keep the women in line); "no gays/bi" (yeah I got nailed for being bi). I've also had my rights violated so hard by an Evangelical group that the ACLU was afraid to go after them. Where is the outrage? Sorry I'm pagan, there is none for me.---  A lot of this sounds like what Christians bitch about Islam is it not?

Claim #2- "Why not the public outrage against the IS?"

Does no one realize the people who are saying the IS does not represent true Islam are from countries that are severely corrupt to the point they make the US look like child's play? Seriously on a corruption level the US is pretty damn mild. Their screaming publicly like Westerners do over things like this could very well mean being beaten over it. They are also locked in their own battles with the warring factions besides the IS, this has been going on long before we got there. Some of those factions have been at it for many generations. Yes let's ask them to put down everything to get on media to make public outcry against IS or stop civil wars to fight against them. The citizens who are keeping their heads down and upset at the world view of IS = Islam are not the type of people to get up and start crowing, they are from these areas the focus is not going to be on social media's view of them, it's going to be about their survival. I just made friends with a member of the shia malitia, he hates the IS just as much if not more than the West for beheading his friends and girlfriend. Where is our outrage for him and the plight of those hurt by the IS who are not "good Christians?" Which is a bs term.

Claim #3 (the big one)- "Those who say the IS does not represent Islam are not devote Muslim because they are not following the Qur'an verbatim."

This is the major one that pisses me off and the one that pretty much ended a few of my friendships in one argument. I have seen this presented in a few ways and no matter how it is worded it is hypocritical.
- "The only devout Jew is Hasidim"
- "If they are friends with you / dating you they are not true Muslims because you are Pagan."
- "If your mom is Catholic then she can't be with her wife because she is Protestant, Catholics can't marry Protestants."

Either way it's phrased it is saying that all religions except Christians have zero wiggle room for rules and no sects. Which is completely untrue. There are in fact something like 20 sects of Islam and at least 4 in Judaism, each with their own interpretations and sets of rules they follow to count as devout. Just like in Christianity there are some that are as lenient as "love and respect your neighbor" and some who are very strict and aim to follow the religious text to the letter (like the ones I encountered above).

For instance I know quite a few Muslims who fall under the "love and respect your neighbor" group, including the bf. They have the "respect others' religions" ethic as apart of their teachings so they respect my choice and we can have calm discussions if they arise. If not then religion never enters conversation unless it is in passing like, "I have to go do a prayer (ritual), bbl." But to the people who make radical claims like above, I guess these people are not Muslim because they are not storming over here to destroy my shrine, destroy my medication (porcine derived hormones), and kill me--  Obviously if a person ends up in the "cannot be friends with a non-believer" or worse yet "kill the heretic" camps they tend to exit stage left rather quickly, and often amusingly. By the way, there are Christian sects who believe in the exact same teachings as those two because it shows up in the teachings! Surprised?

Hell I often wonder how many Muslims and Jews are on the NDT therapies or insulin which are both porcine since they are closest to human hormones. They would have to break the no pork rule to have it, but it saves their life. Where does that line draw in the religious zealotry? Probably does not where the more modern sects is concerned since it is medical I would venture to guess, but just a guess. I've seen a Jewish friend not have to follow something due to medical before.

Those same people who sit there and say "the bible may have barbaric laws written in it, but those are just cultural laws of the era. It is ok to not follow them now," cherry pick what they choose to follow out of the religious text written by MAN, and call themselves a devout follower of God then turn around to say a Muslim or Jew cannot claim to be as such without following their religious text 100% even the "barbaric outdated cultural laws" are hypocrites plain and simple. Either accept there are sects of both and each have their own interpretations just like Christianity did, or disavow any Christians who are not being stoned for wearing mixed fabrics, for shaving, etc. because they are not following the bible 100%.
